Rush "Rush In Rio (DVD)"

Rush in Rio is a live DVD by Canadian band Rush, released in 2003 (see 2003 in music). It is also available as a three CD set. It was the first concert DVD ever released by the band, consisting of 29 songs, and is available in both one- and two-disc sets. Bonus features in the two-disc set include a behind-the-scenes tour documentary directed by Andrew MacNaughtan and multi-angle viewing options for three instrumentals. The performance was recorded and filmed at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was the final night on the 2002 Vapor Trails Tour. It is the band's first live video that presents a single night's entire performance.

The attendance at this show was 40,000, the second largest crowd at a show on the Vapor Trails Tour (the largest crowd being 60,000 at the previous night's show in São Paulo).

The crew had such a difficult time driving from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro that they were hours late when they arrived at the stadium, and no sound or video check was done because the crowd was entering by the time everything was set up. After this show, Neil Peart's rotating drum riser was destroyed when it was being removed from the stadium by a flat-bed truck whose driver miscalculated the height of the exit. During the final three shows of the tour, all in Brazil, the Vapor Trails carpet spread out on the stage became so soaked with rainwater that it could not be flown out with the rest of the equipment afterward. It was left behind in Rio and eventually sold on eBay to a fan in Connecticut.

The Rush In Rio DVD received the 2004 Juno Award for "Music DVD of the Year."

The second disc includes two Easter eggs.

The first Easter egg is the cartoon that plays during "By-Tor and the Snow Dog." If you are using a remote control, the Easter egg is accessed by pressing "enter" on a remote control at 26:40 in the disc-2 documentary, "The Boys in Brazil," while Alex Lifeson is discussing the song. Or, if you are at a keyboard, you can press the [Enter] key once (also known as the 'Return' key) at any point between 26:40 and 27:39.

The second Easter egg on the second disc is a video of Rush playing "Anthem" in 1975. It is accessed with a remote control by selecting the second clip ("O Baterista") on the main menu, the first clip ("YYZ") twice, and the second again, returning to the main menu after each selection. If you are using a computer, start the clip "O Baterista", and let it start playing. Either let it play to the end, (which returns you to the main menu,) or click your media player's button for 'next selection' (which takes you to the main menu). Next, play the track "YYZ", and, as before, return to the main menu. Select "YYZ" again, and then play "O Baterista" again. After playing those four selections in that sequence, when you return to the main menu you will see a new 'Special Bonus' option at the top-left of the main menu called, "Anthem 1975." This video sequence has been referred to as an allusion to Rush's 1976 album 2112.

Talk to Your Daughter is a blues rock album by Robben Ford, released in 1988. The album's cover version of the Albert King classic "Born Under a Bad Sign" was used as a supporting soundtrack in the Clint Eastwood movie Pink Cadillac.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers "Californication"

Californication is the seventh studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was released on June 8, 1999, on Warner Bros. Records and was produced by Rick Rubin. Californication marked the return of John Frusciante, who had previously appeared on Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, to replace Dave Navarro as the band's guitarist. Frusciante's return was credited with changing the band's sound altogether, producing a notable shift in style from the music recorded with Navarro. The album's subject material incorporated various sexual innuendos commonly associated with the band, but also contained more varied themes than previous outings, including death, contemplations of suicide, California, drugs, globalization, and travel.

Californication is the Chili Peppers' most commercially successful studio release internationally, with over 15 million copies sold worldwide, and more than 7 million in the United States alone. As of 2002, the album had sold over 4 million copies in Europe. The record produced several hits for the band, including "Otherside", "Californication" and the Grammy Award-winning "Scar Tissue". Californication peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200.

The record marked a significant change in style for the band: Rolling Stone's Greg Tate noted that "while all previous Chili Peppers projects have been highly spirited, Californication dares to be spiritual and epiphanic". Another critic, Billboard's Paul Verna, mentioned that the album brought out "the group's softer, melodic side", as opposed to their previous six albums.

Pseudo Echo "Funky Town (Single & Video)"

Pseudo Echo are an Australian new wave band that formed in 1982 in Melbourne, Victoria. The original line-up consisted of Brian Canham (vocals, guitars and keyboards), Pierre Gigliotti (as Pierre Pierre) (bass keyboards, bass), Tony Lugton (keyboards) and Anthony Argiro (drums). A later line-up included James Leigh (keyboards) and his brother, Vince Leigh (drums). In the 1980s, Pseudo Echo had Australian top 20 hits with "Listening", "A Beat for You", "Don't Go", "Love an Adventure", "Living in a Dream" and their cover of "Funky Town" (originally by Lipps Inc.), which peaked at No. 1 in 1986. In 1987, it reached No. 1 in Canada and New Zealand, No. 6 in the United States and No. 8 in the United Kingdom.

In 1986, "Funkytown" was covered by Australian band Pseudo Echo as a rock song, which included a guitar solo in the middle. Pseudo Echo's version reached no. 6 on the US Hot 100 chart and spent seven weeks at no. 1 in Australia. Mirroring Lipps Inc's experience, Pseudo Echo's version was that group's only US Top 40 hit. The version of "Funky Town" by Pseudo Echo was played in the 1987 sequel comedy film Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise.

Pink Floyd "P•U•L•S•E (DVD)"

Pulse (stylised as P•U•L•S•E) is a Pink Floyd concert video taken from the 20 October 1994 concert at Earls Court, London, England in The Division Bell Tour. It was originally released on VHS and Laserdisc in 1995.

There was considerable delay in the release of the DVD edition of Pulse, with new features announced with each setback. The cause of the delays was reputed to be the continued modifications and additions to produce a high-quality release. The previous planned release date of 22 September 2005 for the two-disc DVD set was changed to 10 July 2006 for the UK and Europe, and 11 July 2006 everywhere else.

In 2019, a newly restored and re-edited original-length version was released in Blu-ray and DVD discs as parts of a box set The Later Years. This Blu-ray disc is the first package release of Pulse in HD format although it is upconverted from the original SD video recording and scaled in the 4:3 ratio screen size.

The DVD release saw some re-edited footage of the original 1995 release. During The Division Bell Tour the word(s) "Enigma" or "Publius Enigma" would be visible on part of the stage (sometimes it would be written in lights, or on the back screen). These were connected to the Enigma competition surrounding the album and tour. On 20 October 1994, during "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)" the screen displayed the word "Enigma" instead of "E=MC2" which is what was shown at other shows, this is shown on the original 1995 release. The DVD, however, has an altered back-drop displaying "E=MC2", although if the DVD is paused at the correct moment the word "Enigma" is still visible. This portion has been replaced with band members shots on the 2019 Blu-ray version.

Both 1995 original and 2006 new edit were done by Dave Gardener, the 2006 new edit features more shots of David Gilmour.

The 2019 re-edit available on the Later Years box set was done by Benny Trickett and keeps few shots from the original 1995 version (mainly film screens are replaced, The Great Gig In The Sky doesn't feature at all the screen film for example, which was present on the original vhs). It replaces them with closer shots of all band members at key moments of their playing (Richard Wright at the start of Shine On You Crazy Diamond or The Great Gig In The Sky ; Gary Wallis breaks during Any Colour You Like; Nick Mason using the fluorescent sticks on Time, etc). This version is the only one (as of 06.02.2020) available in HD.
