Laura Branigan "Branigan"

Branigan is the debut album by American singer Laura Branigan, recorded in 1981 and released in March 1982 on Atlantic Records.

Two singles were released from the album: Although the first "All Night With Me", failed to enter the Top 40, the second single, an English version of the Italian hit by Umberto Tozzi "Gloria", made the singer a star.

The album included ballads "If You Loved Me" and "I Wish We Could Be Alone", the latter written by Branigan. It also included the pop-rock "Please Stay, Go Away" and the straight-ahead rock of "Living a Lie".

The album was certified gold. Her Eurodisco version of "Gloria" was nominated for, but failed to win, a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

A remastered and expanded edition of the album was released on July 7, 2014 by Gold Legion. Included is the extended 12" version of "Gloria" and several hard to find tracks from the album sessions, all but one of which were released as singles (A-sides, B-sides, 12") prior to the release of the final album.
