Bonnie Tyler "Free Spirit"

Free Spirit is the eleventh studio album by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler. It was first released in 1995 by EastWest Records in Europe, and by Atlantic Records in the United States.

Tyler's three previous albums, Bitterblue (1991), Angel Heart (1992) and Silhouette in Red (1993), were released in Europe by Hansa Records. She signed to EastWest Records in 1994 and travelled to Los Angeles to record Free Spirit. Dieter Bohlen, Tyler's producer under Hansa, took her leave very personally, describing Free Spirit as "one of the most expensive flops in the history of EastWest."

Tyler first released the album in Europe through EastWest Records and in the United States through Atlantic Records. She recorded the Alan Parsons Project song "Limelight", which was used as an Olympic theme by ZDF, and featured on EastWest's Atlanta '96 - The Sound of Winners compilation album, in association with the 1996 Summer Olympics, which took place in Atlanta, Georgia. The song appeared on a re-release of Free Spirit in March 1996.

The Free Spirit Tour began on 1 April 1996, where Tyler performed 22 shows in Germany.

Bonnie Tyler "The Very Best Of Bonnie Tyler"

The Very Best of Bonnie Tyler is a compilation album by Bonnie Tyler.

Released in 1993, the album contained what could be considered a career retrospective so far for Tyler. Starting from her initial single "Lost in France" and going through "Bitterblue" (and other singles from that album), and crossing many classics along the way ("Total Eclipse of the Heart", "It's a Heartache", "Hide Your Heart", and more), The Very Best of Bonnie Tyler covers them all. On the plus side, two singles where she makes guest appearances are on this album.

While the rest of her career after the album Bitterblue is not featured on this album, it still offers a good synopsis of her career to date. The album was a bestseller in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and awarded gold or platinum awards there. The songs are sorted on the album by chronology based on their original album (guest appearances follow this rule too).

One new track is featured ("I Can't Leave Your Love Alone"). There is no record of it being released as a single. Following the album rule of chronology, it appears at the end of the album (released after Bitterblue).

Bonnie Tyler "Silhouette In Red"

Silhouette in Red is the tenth studio album by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler. It was released on 11 October 1993, through Hansa Records. The album became Tyler's final collaboration with German producer Dieter Bohlen.

The album was released in mainland Europe and was a commercial success. The album was certified Gold in Norway through pre-sales, one day before it was released.

Silhouette in Red was Tyler's third and final release with Hansa Records, following Bitterblue (1991) and Angel Heart (1992). Bohlen took Tyler's departure from Hansa "very personally", describing her next album Free Spirit (1995) as "one of the most expensive flops in the history of EastWest Records."

Dieter Bohlen continued the same format as with Tyler's previous releases with Hansa, writing the majority of songs and publishing a number of them with different pseudonyms: Jennifer Blake, Steve Benson and Howard Houston.

In 2004, German producer Frank Farian published a book entitled Stupid Dieser Bohlen, in which he shared a letter he received from British musician Dave Ashby, who was based in Hamburg at the time. Ashby claimed that he was working for Warner/Chappell Music, who published Bohlen's songs on Silhouette in Red. According to Ashby, Bohlen had hired him to fix any grammatical errors in the lyrics he had written, and that he would be paid, receive royalties and that Bohlen would write a song for him. Ashby noted that Tyler was angry about the quality of the lyrics, but that he insisted that they were Bohlen's, not his own. Ashby claimed that he re-wrote most of Bohlen's text, and that both Tyler and Luis Rodríguez were pleased with the result. Bohlen then gave Ashby's promised song to Chris Norman, and refused to credit him as a songwriter. Ashby's name is listed under the "thank you" message in the album's liner notes, but not under the songwriting credits.

Bonnie Tyler "Secret Dreams And Forbidden Fire"

Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire is the sixth studio album by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler. It was released on 3 May 1986, by Columbia Records, as the follow-up to her fifth studio album, Faster Than the Speed of Night (1983). Three years in the making, the album was executive produced by Jim Steinman, who had produced Tyler's previous album. Seven singles were released from the album, with "Holding Out for a Hero" originally being released two years ahead of the album on the Footloose soundtrack. The album features collaborations with songwriters guest artists including Desmond Child and Todd Rundgren.

Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire received generally mixed reviews. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Norwegian Album Charts.

The album's lead single, "Holding Out for a Hero", was originally released two years ahead of the album for the Footloose soundtrack (1984). Following the song's initial release, it charted highest in Austria, Canada, Germany and Sweden, peaking at No. 19 in each country, and only No. 96 in the United Kingdom. The song was re-released in 1985 and charted at No. 1 in Ireland and No. 2 in the United Kingdom, where it was certified Silver by the BPI for sales of over 250,000 units.

In 1985, Tyler was recruited by Giorgio Moroder to record "Here She Comes" for the 1984 restoration version of the 1927 German film Metropolis. Following this, "Loving You's a Dirty Job but Somebody's Gotta Do It", a duet with Todd Rundgren, was released as the second single from Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire. The song could not follow the success of "Holding Out for a Hero" or "Here She Comes", but made the Top 40 in Switzerland, France and Belgium.

"If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)" was released as the third single in 1986. The song was most successful in France, where it peaked at No. 6 and was certified Silver by the SNEP for sales of over 200,000 units. "Band of Gold" was released as the fourth single from the album, and the final charting single, reaching No. 81 in the United Kingdom. The last three single releases, "No Way to Treat a Lady", "Rebel Without a Clue" and "Lovers Again" failed to chart worldwide.
